Jorge Balarezo

Jorge Balarezo started experimenting with 35mm point and shoot photography in his early teens. Born in Lima, Peru and growing up in San José, Costa Rica, he explored formative years of photography, design and  art, while surrounded by polarized environments: One of political unrest and the other of beautiful nature.

It wasn’t until 2017 when he curated his first own group show during New York Art Book Fair, where amongst peers he presented his first array images, shot on  Polaroid Land Camera. There he self-published his first zine, entitled “Eulogies For The Living”, a collection of intimate portraits of his friends and family in New York.
